Two Paskill Stapleton & Lord Clients Awarded Silver CUPPIE’s

21 Feb

Glenside, PA, February 21, 2012 – Paskill Stapleton & Lord, a higher education marketing firm, congratulates two clients that will be presented with Silver CUPPIE Awards at this year’s CUPRAP (The Association of Communicators in Education) Conference to be held in Hershey, PA on March 15th. Representatives from both Neumann University and Manor College will be on hand to accept their awards in the Advertising/Complete Campaign category.

Each year CUPRAP, a voluntary organization of communication professionals from the Higher Education community, awards outstanding marketing and advertising campaigns from colleges and universities in the tri-state area.

Neumann University, a 17-year client of Paskill Stapleton & Lord, will take home a Silver CUPPIE for their 2011 recruitment campaign “A Uniquely Personal Experience.”  Key print pieces including a viewbook and an Open House mailer were submitted, as well as several online banner ads.

“After market research indicated that a ‘uniquely personal’ theme would be effective for us, Paskill Stapleton & Lord made the concept come alive with a fabulous design that the agency adapted perfectly for web-based, print and outdoor vehicles. We’ve been using the branding tag for two years, and recent research indicates that awareness of Neumann University has increased significantly in our recruitment area.” says Stephen Bell, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at Neumann University.

Manor College will be awarded a Silver CUPPIE for their 2011 Advertising campaign “2 Years, 2 Options.”  Paskill Stapleton & Lord submitted a billboard, multiple transit ads, and several online banner ads on the College’s behalf.

“Of course we at Manor are thrilled about the CUPPIE award. I think the campaign says a lot about Manor College — who we are and what we do — with a relatively straightforward, and visually memorable message. We’ve had tremendous response to the campaign, both on our own campus and, of course, beyond. Collaborating with Paskill, Stapleton and Lord on the campaign was a real pleasure — everyone there is brilliant and wonderful to work with — and to have the result of our work recognized by CUPRAP with this award is an honor, and truly icing on the cake. A really rich, sweet tasting icing!” says Steve Greenbaum, Director of Marketing Communications at Manor College.

For over 20 years Paskill Stapleton & Lord has been receiving recognition from similar organizations for their outstanding work in higher education marketing and advertising.  They continue to produce award-winning ads and campaigns for their clients year after year.

The funds raised by the “Lawyers Leading the Way” event will provide scholarships for talented students who cannot afford annual tuition; more than 60% of NBCS students are in need of financial aid.

Quiz: What’s The Key To Losing Weight?

10 Feb

If you’ve struggled to lose weight, your greatest enemy could be your brain. The latest research reveals losing weight is much harder than previously thought because the brain registers a new, higher ‘set point’ as you gain weight that makes shedding those unwanted pounds more difficult. You can eat less and exercise more but your weight will be hard to budge. It doesn’t seem fair. Once you understand the powerful role of your brain, you can harness it to assist, rather than hinder, your weight loss efforts. Here’s how to do it.

Q: Why do 98% of weight loss efforts fail?

A. Most weight loss efforts fail because your current weight is exactly where your mind and body want it to be. Yes, that’s right. You are already at the exact weight for which your mind and body are programmed. Any efforts to change your weight are like trying to swim upstream. Salmon are great at swimming against the current – people are not. Sure, with a lot of work you can make some progress, but as soon as you relax, you’re likely to lose any gains you may have achieved. How many times have you said, “It takes me a month to lose 5 pounds and two days to gain it right back!”

But what if you could change the direction of the current? What if the water flowed in the direction you wanted it to go? Suddenly the stream would carry you effortlessly to your goal. The progress that used to take so much work is now quick and easy.

You might think, “OK, my weight may be where my mind and body want it to be, but it’s not where I want it to be!” You also may ask, “How do I change the direction of the stream and achieve permanent weight loss effortlessly?” Keep reading.

Q. Whose fault is it if you are overweight?

A. If you’re overweight, it’s not your fault. It’s nobody’s fault because there is no ‘fault’. Your weight and everything about you is simply the result of millions of inputs including genetics, physical environment, family environment, emotions, friends, events, culture, etc. This unique combination of ingredients and influences made you exactly the way you are: perfect and deserving of love no matter what you look like.

You might say, “That’s all well and good, but I’d like to look better and be healthier. Is there anything I can do about it?” The good news is you can control your weight. You don’t have to accept your current situation. You can overcome whatever influences have affected your weight in the past and define how your body is going to look from now on. You can change the “direction of the stream” and let it sweep you quickly toward becoming a thinner, healthier, and more attractive.

Q. Is it even possible to lose weight permanently?

A. Yes, it’s possible but not through diets or pills. Permanent weight loss means achieving your target weight and keeping it there for the rest of your life. Diets and pills may help you lose some weight in the short term. But the behavior you adopt to reach your ideal weight will have to be maintained in order to keep the weight off. Before you try to lose weight through special diets or pills, ask yourself these questions.

-          Can you really eat meal replacement bars for the rest of your life?

-          Do you really want to drink that shake every morning for the rest of your life?

-          Do you really think you want to feel deprived for the rest of your life?

-          Do you want to be taking those pills for the rest of your life?

Q. Why are your ears the key to successful weight loss?

A. The key to losing weight is not deprivation. It’s about winning the mental game of weight control through listening. Most world-class athletes and coaches will tell you that the mind is the most important part of every sport. Well, guess what? The mind is also the most important part of weight control. Here’s why. Every thought we have produces electro-chemical changes in our body. Our thoughts influence our metabolism as well as our eating habits, our attitude toward exercise, our self-image and our cravings. Many of these thoughts are established during childhood and, for better or worse, have an enormous long-term impact.

One of the greatest discoveries in the past century is we can change our inner-image and in doing so, automatically change our lives for the better. We can neutralize past negative programming and replace it with positive thoughts, images and feelings. This doesn’t mean you won’t have to modify your food intake and exercise but you’ll be more motivated to make choices that are in line with your goals. The key is having the right tools to help you change your inner mind. Among the best tools are audio programs, hypnosis, personalized therapy, and “immersion camps” that control your diet, activities, and provide emotional support for a period of time to help you establish new habits.

Losing weight starts with your brain. Your attitude, focus, and resolve are all influenced by mental image. Change your brain, and watch the weight change as well.
